4oD tops 30m in August

4oD saw viewing increase from 29m views in July to 31m in August across all platforms that the service is available on.

On Channel4.com, it drew 3.6m unique viewers, who spent an average of two hours on site across the month and an average 25.4 minutes per view.

The three Inbetweeners series took up three of the top five positions of most watched shows in August, spurred by the release of the feature film that has achieved box office success this summer.

The first batch of episodes was the most watched of all Channel 4 series in August with 2.2m views, followed by Hollyoaks which previously attracted the most viewers for a series in July.

The third series of the Inbetweeners took third place in the 4oD chart, followed by the second series of the teen sitcom.

New comedy-drama Beaver Falls took fifth position.

The comedy genre as a whole received 9.46m views while entertainment attracted 8.74m views.

4oD’s views across all platforms now totals 273m for the year to date (Jan-Aug), continuing a year-on-year uplift of 20.9%.

Last month the broadcaster published viewing statistics on 4oD for the first time, working with Omniture to collect the data.

4oD re-launched with a range of additional features that allow viewers to personalise their experience through ‘My 4oD’.

Viewers are now able to create playlists of programmes they want to watch, keep track of episodes they’ve watched, select their favourite shows to be saved in a single place and get recommendations.
