Singapore-based mobile operator M1 is to launch a video channel featuring clips from some of Aardman Animations most popular series, in a deal that was completed by mobile content publisher Starcut.

The channel will be available exclusively to M1's 3G customers in Singapore as part of its Watch-A-Video service, which allows users to customise their entertainment and information by subscribing to their favourite video channels.

Customers have more than 20 video channels to choose from, including Aardman's short clips, local dramas, Discovery Mobile, movie trailers and CNN. The video channels are automatically pushed to the customers' 3G phones at scheduled download times.

The first clips to launch will be from Wallace & Gromit, Angry Kidand Creature Comforts, followed by Morph and Panic in the Village.

Aardman has a distribution arrangement with Starcut for its mobile content in South East Asia and hopes to replicate the model in other territories after launch in Singapore.
