THURSDAY: The BBC Music Awards failed to top the performance by The Brit Awards on ITV as the clash between Russell Brand and Nigel Farage on Question Time propelled it to a three year high.

The inaugural show featuring performances from artists including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and George Ezra, pulled in around 500,000 fewer than the 4.56m (20%) who tuned in to The Brit Awards in February.
The BBC event peaked with 4.7m (21.8%) in the five minutes from 9pm as Idris Elba revealed Pharrell Williams, who was unable to attend, won song of the year for Happy.
Opposite from 9pm-10.30pm the concluding part of ITV’s The Lost Honour of Christopher Jeffries entertained 3.1m (15.3%) after shedding around 250,000 viewers from the previous evening. The Carnival Film & Television two-parter averaged 3.2m (15.3%).
BBC2 drama The Fall continued with 2.1m (9.7%) in line with last week’s outing as 24 Hours in A&E recorded 1.8m (8.2%) on Channel 4 its best performance in three weeks. It was followed by Babylon which sunk to a series low of 326,000 (2.1%). All three shows have a single episode remaining.
Channel 5’s Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty recovered from last week’s dip to inform 667,000 (3.1%), according to Barb data provided by overnights.tv.

3.4m (29.2%)
Mentorn Media’s live debate show pulled in its biggest crowd since August 2011 when an episode focused on the London riots grabbed 3.5m (26.5%).
The debate between comedian Brand and Ukip leader Farage, along with politician Mary Creagh peaked with 3.6m (31.3%) in the five minutes from 11.05pm.
