BBC1 is to record a Question Of Sport spin-off series featuring comedian Jason Manford.

A Question of Sport: Super Saturday is due to be filmed in Salford in June, with the former 8 Out Of 10 Cats team captain among the guests. Manford has previously appeared as a panellist on Question Of Sport in 2011.

Earlier this year the BBC issued a call for kayakers to take part in a Super Saturday extreme challenge, filmed in Snowdonia, which could form part of the show.

Question Of Sport first aired in 1968 and features regular captains leading teams of celebrities as they compete to answer a series of sports-related trivia.

The BBC is yet to confirm any further details, including how long the series will be.
