A two-hour strike by union members at Granada Television went ahead last Friday and was described as 'pretty successful' by a Bectu spokesman.

Members are now working to a strict 12-hour day causing problems for some location work, which can demand up to 15-hour shifts. Both sides are refusing to talk on the other's terms - the unions are calling for national talks at Acas while Granada wants talks at local level. The unions are likely to meet in the next fortnight to discuss progress.
