PEER 1 Hosting has teamed up with 3D firm bluegfx to bring cloud-based 3D and video graphics to media firms on a pay-as-you-process basis.

The RealityServerR platform, which is a combination of NVIDIA Tesla GPU (graphics processing unit) computing server and 3D web services software, delivers a 3D rendering and animation package over the internet.

Managing director at bluegfx, Matt Allen, said that hosting the GPUs and software within the cloud will make it an inexpensive entry point for new users. “We are sure it will be of significant benefit for our customers,” he said.

NVIDIA’s Tesla S1070 and Tesla M2050 GPUs, as well as RealityServer, are now being offered as managed hosting at PEER 1 Hosting’s data centers.
