Flextech men's channel Bravo has secured the UK rights to Brazil's 2006 World Cup qualifying matches.

Bravo is understood to have beaten BSkyB in the bid for the 12 game-package, which was sold by the Brazil team's international rights owner Traffic Sports Marketing. A Sky spokesperson refused to confirm whether Sky had put in a bid.

The acquisition is part of a wider strategy by Flextech to bring more football to Bravo.

'What the Brazil deal does for us is show that, although this process is going to take some time, we are repositioning Bravo as a home for sport,' said channel controller Richard Woolfe.

The channel is currently showing the 77-part reality series Fash FC , made by Zig Zag an it has also commissioned Zig Zag to make a half hour special documenting XFM DJ Christian O'Connell's search for a "Three Lions"-style song for Euro 2004, composed by ordinary members of the public. The show, called Euro 2004: Song for England , goes out on June 6.
