Nascent venture has already supported Network Ten’s upcoming drama Dalliance
Australian production outfit Racat Group and sibling company Northern Pictures have launched a specialist finance company to support local series.
Northern Screen Finance said it aims to provide Australian screen producers with “fast, cost effective cashflow finance”. It is led by managing director Peter Anderson, CFO Steve Morgan and general counsel Page Henty.

The trio have have between them supported more than 60 productions across kids and adult drama, comedy, documentary and feature film for local broadcasters, global streamers and international partners.
Details of the amounts available have not been revealed but the company has already secured its first offset loan for the upcoming six-part drama series Dalliance.
The show, which stars Hugo Weaving and Heather Mitchell, is produced by John Edwards and Dan Edwards for Roadshow Rough Diamond, Network Ten and Paramount.
“We’re committed to strengthening Australia’s screen sector and championing local storytellers, so their work reaches audiences here and globally,” Anderson said.
“With a deep understanding of the production process end-to-end, our goal is to make the lending experience seamless and efficient, empowering producers to focus on creating outstanding content.”
Racat, which was operates across TV, digital, publishing and gaming, and houses Northern Pictures, Australian Geographic, Junkee Media and Runaway Play.
