Matt Forde-led Global Production unit details remake of teen drama Klassen and second season of Ghosts
BBC Studios has secured a double hit of business in Germany after securing greenlights for a remake of long-running Danish teen drama Klassen and a second season of its Ghosts adaptation.

Klassen is being produced for WDR in Germany by BBC Studios Germany, with the news revealed at Series Mania in Lille.
The drama has run to more than 1,000 episodes and follows the day-to-day lives of 12-year-olds at a public school in Denmark.
The series has been on air on DR Ultra for a decade and is produced by BBC Studios Nordics (fka STV Productions). Klassen was initially based on the Dutch series Brugklas, which was produced by Tuvalu Media.
WDR has also extended its local version of UK comedy Ghosts into a second season, with the news announce dby BBC Studios Germany fiction boss Eva Holtmann.
Her counterpart in France, Lea Gimmonneau-Sorel, said BBC Studios France is also in discussions to create a French version of Klassen.
BBC Studios Production chief Matt Forde told delegates in Lille that the show’s creation came about during a scripted exchange, adding that he was is looking to “expand” BBCS’s drama adaptations and originals.
