Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall) developed the show with creators Jackson Row and Mike Mildonm, with Trevor Rotenberg, Zack Waxenberg and Greg Walter also attached.

True crime series I’m Not Coming Back tracks the 2019 rampage that saw two men going on a killing spree before disappearing into the Canadian wilderness.

It is being produced by Tuck Shop Media and Hodgee Films, with Joe Tuck producing and Brent Hodge directing.

Paige Murray, who became director of development at Disney+ Canada earlier in December, said the two series “showcase the incredible range of talent we have here in Canada.”

Murray added: “This demonstrates our deep commitment to local content, investing in stories that will resonate with audiences both here in Canada and around the world.”

Disney+ launched in Canada in 2019 but had not previously ordered any programming from the country, instead relying on imports. The duo of shows now revealed come after Canada’s government last week reversed a decision to increase global streamer’s contributions from 5% of local revenue to 15%.
