Foxtel’s executive director of entertainment content and channels, Wendy Moore, is stepping down at the Australia pay-TV operator.

Moore will leave the company at the end of the year, having only been promoted to the role in February when Foxtel’s content chief Alison Hurbert-Burns stepped down after six years with the firm.

Moore had joined Foxtel in 2019 to lead its lifestyle arm but took on an expanded remit to include Hurbert-Burns’ responsibilities three months ago, following news that the Aussie operator was to be acquired by DAZN.

That move saw her add responsibility for scripted and unscripted originals at the Colin From Accounts broadcaster, in addition to a remit that included oversight of Foxtel’s owned and operated channels.

Moore had joined Foxtel in 2019 to lead its lifestyle arm, but took on an expanded remit to include Hurbert-Burns’ responsibilities three months ago, following news that the Aussie operator was to be acquired by DAZN.

The sports-focused operator formally completed that deal in April

Moore’s departure was communicated in an email from Hilary Perchard, with Foxtel now seeking a replacement.

Perchard said Moore’s exit at the end of the year would “provide a smooth transition, ensure the team is well-supported through change and allow enough time to put the groundwork in place for the next chapter of our commitment to delivering premium entertainment and lifestyle content that our customers love.”

The exit of Moore, who will remain as co-host of Foxtel’s long-running Selling Houses Australia, is the latest senior exec rejig in Australia this month.

Earlier in June, Amanda Laing unveiled her senior team at Nine Entertainment having joined the broadcaster in January following her exit as the former boss of Foxtel-owned streamer Binge in September.
