Appointment comes alongside plan to launch new division producing original content for YouTube and FAST channels

Cineflix Media has appointed Michael Kronish to oversee group productions, following the exit of JC Mills earlier this year.

Kronish, who was most recently president at Cineflix-owned C3 Media, becomes president of production at the Canadian outfit, working across North America and the UK.

He will focus on developing and delivering shows for Canadian and US broadcasters, streamers, and platforms, as well as heading up a new unit producing content for FAST and YouTube.

The appointment comes after Mills revealed in May that he would be stepping down as president and head of content, with chief commercial officer Piers Vellacott taking on his remit in the interim.

Kronish, who will work closely with former Raw exec Vellacott, was previously senior vice president of unscripted and documentary at Muse Entertainment prior to joining C3.

He has also had stints at Vice Media, launching and leading the company’s Canadian production studio, and worked on the Viceland channel.

C3 Media founder Pablo Salzman and Kronish will continue as executive producers on key projects for the label, with Cineflix producing a selection of projects. Salzman will continue to lead the label and its development slate, working with Cineflix to co-develop and co-produce new projects.

Glen Salzman, co-founder and chief exec at Cineflix Media, said: “[Kronish] brings a wealth of experience and deep relationships with key buyers around the world.

“Michael will help drive the continued growth of Cineflix, creating premium content for broadcasters, streamers, and platforms as well as overseeing a new division producing original content for YouTube and FAST channels.”

Kronish added: “I’m thrilled to join Cineflix at such an exciting time for the company. With production expanding across North America and the UK, I look forward to working with Glen, Piers, and our talented teams to build on this momentum. I’m especially pleased that Pablo and I will continue collaborating on a number of exciting projects.”

Salzman continued: “This new role for Michael will allow for even greater collaboration between the C3 Media and Cineflix teams, fostering creativity and delivering premium series for global partners.”
