Lucas Meurin to lead sales for factual-focused firm in France and sub-Saharan Africa

French factual producer and distributor ZED has hired a former BBC Studios and Canal+ manager.

Lucas Meurin will lead sales activity in France and sub-Saharan Africa for Paris-based ZED, whose sales team now numbers nine employees and whose catalogue runs to more than 5,000 hours of primarily factual content.

Meurin began his career at Canal+ International before becoming senior commercial associate at London-based financing firm Great Point Media, which entered administration in 2023.

He then moved to BBC Studios, first as international acquisitions manager before being appointed business development manager.

ZED was founded by Manuel Catteau more than 30 years ago and produces around 40 documentaries each year, while is library includes shows ranging from Marmots: War of Clans and Knut: The Viking Emperor to Once Upon a time: The Science of Stories.
