Chief exec Jennifer Mullin staying in US to deal with personal matter
Fremantle has cancelled its Series Mania keynote set for Wednesday, after chief exec Jennifer Mullin was unable to travel.
A Fremantle spokesperson told Broadcast International that the keynote would be postponed to allow Mullin to deal with a “very serious personal matter” at home in the US.

Mullin and Andrea Scrosati, Fremantle’s group chief operating office and chief exec of Continental Europe, had been due to take to the stage in Lille to outline future growth plans, discuss its content pillars, and its businesses in Europe and the US.
The appearance had been due to coincide with Fremantle’s 25th anniversary, although the RTL Group-owned entity has faced a turbulent 24 months, as streamers and broadcasters cut back on spending.
Its most recent annual results saw revenues fall almost 10%, while Broadcast International revealed that almost £90m was written off from its production and distribution operations as it shifts its talent deals and gap financing.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused to the Festival and delegates at the Series Mania Forum, and greatly appreciate your understanding and support at this difficult time,” the Fremantle rep added.
Given the circumstances, they added, Fremantle felt it would not be appropriate for Scrosati to conduct the panel alone.
A Series Mania spokesperson added: “We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused to the Festival and delegates at the Series Mania Forum, and greatly appreciate your understanding and support at this difficult time.”
Series Mania Forum begins today and runs until Thursday in Lille, France.
