Australia’s Seven primes trucking FAST channel

Keshet International (KI) and Australia’s Seven Network have partnered on a second FAST channel, this time focusing on trucking.

Trucking Hell will offer nine seasons (159 hours) of Crackit TV’s Trucking Hell to viewers via the channel, which is available via streaming platform 7plus.

Trucking Hell follows Crouch Recovery, a family-run heavy rescue operation that clears Britain’s biggest road disasters—fast—so the country keeps moving.

The roll-out follows the launch of True Crime Files last December, which was created by KI and Seven and stocked mainly with Woodcut Media shows.

 

TV2 Denmark returns veteran format

Fear Factor is returning to Denmark after a 23-year absence following a deal between Banijay’s Metronome and TV2/TV2 Echo.

The show is being hosted by comedian Ruben Søltoft and remains true to the original Fear Factor format with extreme heights and stomach-turning stunts.

It is the latest remake for the veteran format, which is being rebooted for Fox in the US and CTV in Canada. A new adaptation in Quebec - Fear Factor Célébrités - launches on Crave TV in French-Canada next spring.

 

MIP London unveils podcast push

Former Amazon Studios chief Georgia Brown is among podcast execs set to appear at MIP London next year.

MIP London, which runs 22–24 February at IET London and The Savoy, will explore podcasting with a session featuring Brown, who was appointed chief content officer at Podimo this summer.

Patreon’s Lina Rezina, Little Dot’s Wayne Davison and Acast’s Josh Woodhouse will also appear on the same panel.

Other sessions confirmed for the conflab will explore microdramas, the creator economy, streaming and AI.

 

ITV’s Love Island tops regulator complaints 

UK broadcaster ITV once again dominated the most complained about shows of the year, with Love Island landing the top three spots in Ofcom’s list.

ITV shows took seven of the top 10 spots – an improvement on last year’s nine out of 10.

Lifted Entertainment’s reality dating show was shrouded in bullying allegations towards the contestant Shakira this year, with the 24 July episode landing 3,547 complaints in total. This was just ahead of the 2,509 complaints prompted by the 22 July episode, and the 2,002 received the following day. Read more
