Sony launches Breaking Bad, Dragon’s Den FAST channels
Sony Pictures Entertainment has launched a raft of FAST channels in Europe with Rakuten TV, offering localised versions of shows such as Dragon’s Den, Breaking Bad and Shark Tank.
The 20 channels - a mix of single IP channels and scripted series genre channels - include Comedy TV (UK, Spain, Germany/Austria, Italy, Nordics), which offers series such as Seinfeld and The Nanny.
The line-up for Thriller TV (UK, Germany) includes Breaking Bad and The Good Doctor, while Faves (UK, Spain, Germany/Austria, France, Italy, Nordics, The Netherlands) carries Married…with Children and Charlie’s Angels.
Single IP channels include: Dragons’ Den (UK); Shark Tank (Spain); The Blacklist (Spain, France); Bewitched (Italy); and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (UK).
Prime Video expands House of David
Prime Video has ordered a third season of House of David, the biblical drama from Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios.
The show was created by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, who EP the series starring Michael Iskander as David, alongside Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, and Stephen Lang as Samuel.
The third run will see David’s journey comes full circle from outcast shepherd to fierce warrior, to his ultimate destiny as king.
House of David is produced by Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts, along with Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Television.
BBCS hits back at Top Gear driver suit
BBC Studios has claimed the racing driver who was Freddie Flintoff’s passenger during the presenter’s 2022 Top Gear crash gave the presenter “wrong and dangerous instructions” in the lead up to the incident.
The producer-distributor is disputing Paul Rees’ £150,000 lawsuit against it, suggesting his actions led to the car being overturned.
Rees was the professional driver tasked with training and advising the former cricket star on how to safely control and drive the car.
It was previously not known that anyone else was in the vehicle at the time of accident, which led to the show being “rested” indefinitely. Read more
