Jorge Pezzi’s departure from Telefonica-owned operator follows exit of chief exec Daniel Domenjó
Movistar Plus+ director of drama and partnerships, Jorge Pezzi, has left the Spanish streamer after a year in the role.
The news, revealed by Spanish trade title Audiovisual451, comes less than a month after it was revealed that Daniel Domenjó, chief exec at the Telefónica-owned pay-TV service and streaming platform, would be leaving the company.

He is being replaced by Alfonso Gómez Palacio, who was most recently executive chairman of Telefónica in Latin America.
Pezzi’s departure, which was voluntary, will take place in the coming weeks and comes a year since he joined the Movistar Plus+ original production team alongside Hugo Tomás to head up the entertainment division.
Among the latest original series announced by Movistar Plus+ are Ardora and Todo lo Necesario (Everything Necessary). The company is also at the Cannes Film Festival with two of its own feature films in the Official Selection competition: El ser Querido’ (The Beloved), by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, and La Bola Negra (The Black Ball), by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi.
It is also involved in Amarga Navidad (Bitter Christmas), by Pedro Almodóvar, which will also compete for the Palme d’Or.
Pezzi worked in advertising and production prior to joining Movistar Plus+, launching LACOproductora with José Miguel Contreras in 2018.
In March 2023, he became chief exec of Boomerang TV, one of Mediawan’s Spanish production companies.
It is unclear who will replace Pezzi at Movistar Plus+, with his exit the second major drama exec departure from a streamer in recent days after José María Caro exited HBO Max to join Secuoya Studios.
