New data reveals top 10 most-watched UK series in more than a dozen of biggest markets

Netflix dominated the viewing of British programming around the world in 2025 with the most popular 10 exports from the country all available on the streamer, according to exclusive data seen by Broadcast International.
As the scripted industry attends Series Mania in Lille this week, the extent of British scripted product is also clear, with the top 10 dominated by dramas.
The data from Digital i, which measured viewing on Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, shows that 47.9% of Netflix subscribers in 15 of the biggest markets (the US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Nordics, Poland and Netherlands) watched Adolescence last year.

Black Mirror trailed in second on 28.6%, with The Thursday Murder Club (28.1%), Missing You (26.9%) and Havoc (24.8%) making up the top five.
Department Q came in sixth with a 21.5% share, while Man vs Baby (16.6%), A Deadly American Marriage (15.8%) and The Sandman S1 (15.4%) and S2 (15.1%) made up the top 10.
The findings mean that no British export on Prime Video or Disney+ in the selected markets was viewed by more than 15.1% of the aggregated audience.
The data also shows that Netflix subscribers streamed Adolescence 403 million times last year, accounting for almost 340 million hours viewed.
Black Mirror and Department Q came in second and third on view time, securing 232 million and 202 million hours respectively (with the length and number of episodes affecting audience share ranking).
British exports proved most popular in the Netherlands, where 87.8% of subscribers watched more than 10 minutes or more of the top 10 exports.
Poland came in second at 87.4%, with Brazil (83.1%), Mexico (81.3%) and Spain (79%) making up the top five.
Just over 75% of UK subscribers watched 10 minutes or more of the top 10 shows, while the US represented 1153.2 million hours viewed, but lagged on audience share with 63.3% of subscribers watching one of the top British exports.
