The Chairman, which is in development, is also the first project between Peacock owner NBCUniversal, 101 Studios, its chief David Glasser (Mobland, Landman), and Chris McCarthy, who has an overall deal with the US studio.

Yellowstone producer 101 Studios had previously had a deal with Paramount but moved to NBCU at the start of the year. Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan is also moving to NBCU, but not until 2029.

101 Studios will produce The Chairman with Weiner and Murphy, with the show marking the latter’s first TV series regular role since he left NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 1984.

The Hollywood star, who was an EP of Fox’s animated series The PJ’s, is known for movies including Beverly Hills Cop.

Plot details of The Chairman have been kept under wraps.
