Head of network programming to exit after more than a decade in the role
Peter Andrews has resigned as head of network programming at SBS in Australia.
Andrews had been with the broadcaster for more than a decade, having joined from Network Ten, and played a key role in the expansion of streamer SBS On Demand.

He picked up shows ranging from The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo to Vikings and Blue Lights, while also ordering Alone Australia, the most successful original series in SBS’s history.
Andrews was also behind the launch of channels including SBS Food, SBS World Movies and SBS Viceland.
His exit follows the departure of SBS managing director James Taylor in August and chair George Savvides a month earlier.
Andrews said: “After more than 12 years, I’ve made the very difficult decision to resign from my role as head of network programming at SBS Australia.
“It’s impossible to summarise what this chapter has meant to me, but I’m leaving with enormous pride in what we achieved.”
He praised his teanm, describing them as “a group of talented, passionate, bold and collaborative people who care deeply about the power of storytelling and the audiences we serve.”
Andrews said he would be taking a “small amount of time to consider what comes next,” before adding: “I’m excited for new opportunities, new challenges, and the chance to bring everything I’ve learned at SBS to my next chapter.”
