Netflix extends Age of Attraction
Netflix has extended its dating show Age of Attraction into a second season.
The relationship experiment series, which asks if age matters in love, premiered on 11 March with eight one-hour episodes and debuted in the Netflix English TV Top 10, where it has remained since its release.
The show is from Jennifer O’Connell’s Velvet Hammer Media. O’Connell, Rebecca Quinn, Sam Dean and David Friedman exec produce S1.
Endemol Shine Brasil preps Globo’s Underground City
Globo’s pay-TV channel GNT, streamer Globoplay and news strand Fantástico have greenlit a docuseries about São Paulo’s unique subway system from Banijay’s Endemol Shine Brasil.
Underground City (Cidade Subterrânea) explores the fast-paced operations that keep the unseen world of São Paulo’s subway system running, alongside the personal stories of its passengers.
The show was created by Endemol Shine Brasil and directed by Eduardo Rajabally.
Korean romance greenlit by Netflix
Netflix has greenlit Korean romance drama Long Vacation from director of Crash Landing on You, Lee Jung-hyo.
The series, which stars Choo Young-woo and Lee Se-young, follows a powerful being who has lived for centuries without ever understanding love, who meets a capable hotel room attendant.
The show has been written by Jung Hyun-jung (I Need Romance, Lovestruck in the City) and is the latest addition to Netflix’s expanding Korean slate, which includes The Rat.
Nine completes QMS acquisition
Nine Entertainment in Australia has completed its acquisition of outdoor advertising firm QMS Media (QMS).
The deal, which sees Nine taking a 100% stake in QMS, was described as “a definitive shift” in the broadcasyter’s portfolio that allows it to offer cross-platform ad solutions.
Nine and QMS said they would look to unlock a ‘sofa to street’ proposition for clients. QMS will continue to operate as a distinct division, overseen by chief exec John O’Neill, who will report to Nine Group chief Matt Stanton.
Orange alum joins Canal+ to drive AI
Canal+ has appointed a senior exec from telco Orange to oversee its AI efforts.
Anne Laure Tingry becomes chief data & AI officer at the London-listed company, reporting to chief exec Maxime Saada.
She will join the group’s executive committee and will be responsible for leading Canal+’s data and AI strategy across all its markets, while overseeing the implementation of projects.
Tingry had been at Orange since 2002, rising to become managing director of Orange Store before working at its Orange Business unit.
