Systems integrator Broadcast Networks has recruited five former Sony Professional Solutions Europe (PSE) staff to its technical team.

Solutions architect Peter Timmons, proposal bid manager Francis Lea, broadcast engineer Ben Curtis and senior 3D design engineers Nick Petty and Philip Walters all worked at Sony PSE with Broadcast Networks’ recently appointed director of media and broadcast solutions Malcolm Robinson.

“Our new recruits bring a wealth of knowledge to the company, specifically in the areas of solution design and project management,” said Robinson.

“The sector-leading expertise we now have on board is phenomenal and we are very excited about the future. These new appointments allow us to grow the business by consolidating the experience already present at Broadcast Networks so that we are better able to deliver game-changing results to our customers.”

Last year, Broadcast Networks installed a master control room and three new television studios at News UK’s headquarters in London. The studios are now being used by The Sun newspaper to create content for its online editions.

The SI completed infrastructure projects for Chellomedia, including the installation of a 24 channel playout system. It also designed and built an 18 camera armoured surveillance vehicle for the Dutch police (pictured).
