Broadcaster and indie will not work again with Escape to the Chateau talent
Channel 4 and Escape to the Chateau production company Two Rivers have both ended their working relationship with the show’s stars, Dick and Angel Strawbridge.
The pair have fronted the show for seven years and it has been an important title for the broadcaster, prompting several spin-offs including a yet-to-TX French travelogue.
It is understood that the couple’s behaviour during filming and clashes with producersin the past year prompted Two Rivers to write to Channel 4, which then instigated an independent review.
The results of that piece of work lead to Two Rivers and Channel 4 to take the decision to sever ties.

Deadline first reported the split between the broadcaster and indie and the on-screen talent.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”
Two Rivers said: “We can confirm that we will no longer work with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at the moment.”
From 2016 to 2020 the main Escape to the Chateau series was produced by Spark Media-owned Kindling Media before passing to Two Rivers and Chateau TV, a label created by the Strawbridges.
In 2021, there were allegations of bullying against the couple and strong denials of any bad behaviour during the first four series of the show, as reported in The Times.
