IMG-owned airline and cruise line channel signs three-year extension

Australian Open Rod Laver Arena

The Australian Open will continue to be shown on Sport 24 for another three years, following an agreement between channel owner IMG and Tennis Australia.

Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra, IMG owned and operated 24/7 live sports channels for the airline and cruise line industries, have shown the tournament for over 10 years, and will continue to air over 150 hours of live coverage-per-year.

The deal also includes AO lead-in events and AO Originals Programs.

Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley said: “We are excited to renew our partnership with Sport 24 and to be able to bring the drama and excitement of all the action here at Melbourne Park to fans traveling across the globe wherever they might be.”

Richard Wise, SVP of content and channels at IMG’s media business, added: “As the first Grand Slam of the year, The Australian Open is always a must-see event for tennis and sports fans alike. We very much value our long-standing partnership with Tennis Australia and are delighted to have extended the relationship for a further three years, which in turn is good news for passengers for the next couple of weeks and the following two years.”
