The multi-platform deal, beginning with the 2026/2027 season, covers all major European markets and runs through to the Olympic Winter Games French Alpes 2030

Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max have agreed an extended partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to show every event on the International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Cup and World Championship calendar for at least the next four seasons.
Beginning with the 2026/2027 season, the agreement covers every market in Europe excluding the Nordics, Poland and Russia with additional exclusivity of the entire World Cup season in 34 territories.
Live television coverage will be shown on Eurosport, and on TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland. This includes coverage of every World Cup event and World Championships including the next three editions – Otepää, Estonia in 2027; Hochfilzen, Austria in 2028; and Oslo, Norway in 2029 – ahead of coverage of all biathlon taking place at the Olympic Winter Games French Alpes 2030.
HBO Max will be the streaming home of Biathlon across Europe, with every event available live and on-demand. In-app innovations such as key moments are set to make biathlon coverage more immersive than ever by curating unmissable action points in event streams which subscribers can instantly navigate to so they don’t miss a moment of the action.
Extensive editorial coverage of the biathlon season, interviews, short competition highlights, other digital content and storytelling will also be made available to biathlon fans throughout the season on localised web, app and social platforms.
Trojan Paillot, SVP rights, syndication and commercial development at Eurosport and TNT Sports, said: “We are passionate about winter sports and have built up decades of experience scaling coverage of the widest range of events to the largest possible audience across the continent. We’re delighted to continue in our role as the leading multi-market broadcaster for biathlon – an incredible sport which regularly ranks among our most watched events throughout the winter season.
“We know our biathlon offer can continue to attract even more fans while supporting the growth of the sport. Through the powerful combination of showing every major event live, innovative in-app features on HBO Max that are deepening engagement amongst fans, and the much-loved linear coverage on Eurosport and TNT Sports, we will reach every biathlon fan and provide them with the best possible viewing experience, however they are choosing to watch.”
Eurosport and TNT Sports moved to secure its long-term position as the home of biathlon after the International Biathlon Union (IBU) confirmed the venues and sporting programme for the next four seasons to 2029-2030, safeguarding the future of the sport and its athletes.
Biathlon is one of Europe’s most watched winter sports across all platforms. It was watched by millions of fans on Eurosport and TNT Sports during the 2025-2026 World Cup season with streaming subscribers consuming biathlon content on HBO Max growing by 18% year-on-year.
During Eurosport and TNT Sports’ coverage of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, biathlon was a top three winter sport across Europe.
As well as its deal with Eurosport, TNT Sports and HBO Max, the EBU has also agreed deals with broadcasters including ORF (Austria), SRG SSR (Switzerland), ČT (Czechia), ARD and ZDF (Germany), TV 2 (Denmark), ERR (Estonia), Yle (Finland), LTV (Latvia), NRK and TV 2 (Norway), TVP (Poland), SVT (Sweden), RTV Slovenija (Slovenia), STVR (Slovakia) and Suspilne (Ukraine), who will provide coverage in their respective territories, alongside extended programming from French broadcaster L’Équipe.
