Basketball, tennis and volleyball federations have made rights moves

FIBA & EBU extend 3x3 deal

FIBA and the EBU have extended their rights deal for FIBA’s 3x3 basketball events until the end of 2028. 

EBU Members in Austria (ORF), Belgium (VRT), Lithuania (LRT), Netherlands (NOS), Poland (TVP), Switzerland (SRG SSR), Turkey (TRT), and Ukraine (Suspilne) will provide live, free-to-air coverage of FIBA’s top 3x3 competitions, including both World and European events. Coverage will be tailored to each country’s national teams and delivered across both traditional and digital platforms.

Volleyball Nations League 2024

IRIS to distribute Volleyball World competitions

IRIS Sport Media will distribute Volleyball World’s rights in Central and South America (excluding Brazil) and the Caribbean. 

The four-year agreement covers the World Championships (2025-2027); Volleyball Nations League (VNL) (2025-2028); Club World Championships (2025-2028) , Beach World Championships (2025-2027); and the Beach Pro Tour (Elite 16) (2025-2028). 

IRIS will market the Italian Men’s and Women’s Leagues - Lega Pallavolo Serie A from the 2025/26 season through to 2028/29 and Lega Pallavolo Femminile Serie A for 2025/26.

Tennis Channel to continue serving WTA Tour

WTA Ventures and the Tennis Channel have agreed a six-year extension to their rights deal in the US. 

The WTA Tour will continue to be shown through the Tennis Channel, its streaming network TennisChannel 2, its app, and its website TennisChannel.com. This covers all WTA 1000, 500 and 250 events (except tournaments in the US) through to the season-closing WTA Finals, with the Tennis Channel also airing events in the US through a separate agreement.
