Ed Leigh and Tim Warwood will host weekly Snow Globe podcast on YouTube and other platforms

Ed Leigh Tim Warwood Snow Globe podcast

Ski Sunday presenters and Winter Olympics commentators Ed Leigh and Tim Warwood have launched winter sports podcast Snow Globe.

This comes shortly after BBC Sport axed Ski Sunday after almost 50 years of the show running, and afer a year in which Leigh and Warwood caught the public’s attention for their commentary of snowboard and freeskiing at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games - which sees them shortlisted for Sports Commentator of the Year at the 2026 Broadcast Sport Awards.

Snow Globe will be a weekly show on YouTube and podcast platforms every Wednesday, and is supported by ski holiday specialist Heidi. It will also include a detailed snow forecast for the weekend ahead, with data from partner snow-forecast.com. Podcast specialist Rethink Audio is producing the show.

The first episode, out on Wednesday 4 November, features Team USA freeskier Hunter Hess. Bear Grylls follows the week after, with later episodes featuring a mix of Olympians and celebrity enthusiasts. Each episode is filmed in full video for Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube, and includes the best clips sent in by the Snow Globe audience. Fans can join the Snow Globe Patreon for free for behind-the-scenes clips, extended interviews and invitations to exclusive events.

Warwood said: “Me and Ed have been planning this for a while. It’s the chance to build a snowsports show from scratch that reflects how we feel about the mountains; the amazing people you meet and the incredible places you discover along the way.”

Senior producer Ollie Peart at Rethink Audio said: “We’re delighted to be working with Ed and Tim to bring Snow Globe to Ski Sunday fans missing their weekly fix. Working with these two, you’re never sure if it’ll be a black run or a trip down the nursery slopes. But it’s always a fun ride!”

Alexander Blunt, co-founder of Heidi, said: “Ed and Tim get people excited about having fun in the mountains; we make it easy to get there. Whether you’re a pro or a rookie, we’re here to help Snow Globe fans find their freedom on the slopes.”
