World Darts Championship

Sky Sports drew a record audience for the 2025/26 World Darts Championship, attracting 51.2 million viewer hours across the tournament.

This equates to a 13% year-on-year increase in total viewing for the Championship.

Viewing was up more than 100% compared to four years ago on Sky, which was the last pre-Luke Littler tournament.

Sky Sports’s figures highlight The Luke Littler effect, which has driven a huge surge of interest in the sport.

The professional darts tournament took place from 11 December 2025 to 3 January 2026 at Alexandra Palace in London.

It was the 33rd World Darts Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and featured a 128-player field, expanded from 96.

Luke Littler was the defending champion, having defeated Michael van Gerwen 7–3 in the 2025 final.

Littler beat Van Veen 7–1 to win his second world title, becoming only the fourth player in the history of the tournament to retain the title.
