Sky Sports expands US presence for NFL coverage

Sky Sports has expanded its US presence for hte 2026/27 NFL season.

The broadcaster will air over half of the fixtures from the competition, including Sunday double-headers, primetime matchups, NFL Redzone, Thanksgiving Day, the Playoffs and Super Bowl LXI. 

For 2026, this will include having journalist and broadcaster Bridget Condon and former NFL player Ndamukong Suh on the ground in the US, supporting the main presentation team of Neil Reynolds, Phoebe Schecter and Jason Bell. 

In the UK, NFL is also being shown free-to-air on 5, with some changes to its coverage this time round that you can read about here. In addition, NFL Game Pass, housed on DAZN, will give access to every game as well as 24/7 breaking news from the NFL Network channel, plus fan favourite shows including Coaches Film (All 22), Game in 40 and Sunday in 60. 

In Ireland, Virgin Media Television will broadcast at least 22 games per season across its free-to-air channels and Virgin Media PLAY under a new three-season agreement through 2028 — more than double its 2025 output — including 18 Sunday 9pm games, three playoff games and the Super Bowl. A dedicated weekly show, NFL Overtime, will air every Thursday hosted by Michael McQuaid.

The NFL’s UK and Ireland YouTube channel will also continue to host The Breakdown with Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora every Monday, bringing fans all the highlights and analysis from the weekend’s games, as well as The Weekly Blitz, with Ellie Collins and Hugh Coles, giving fans 20 minutes of the biggest moments from the weekend’s action every Tuesday.
