Channel 5 has ordered a two-part blue light special from Raw Cut featuring footage of high-speed police chases.

World’s Craziest Police Pursuits will be narrated by former police officer Rav Wilding. It is the ex-Crimewatch presenter’s second show on the channel following ITV Studio’s Frontline Police, which was green-lit last week.

The 2 x 60 minute series will air late in June and will show what happens when police take on criminals on the run. It includes high speed chases with stolen lorries and teenage joyriders in footage from the UK, US, Brazil and Australia.

World’s Craziest Police Pursuits has been ordered by C5’s commissioning editor of news, current affairs and documentaries Michelle Chappell and will be exec produced by Raw Cut’s Steve Warr and Bill Rudgard.

Rudgard said both episodes demonstrated the skills of police forces around the world. “With point-of-view filming taken from police cameras, the audience gets the chance to see the action through the eyes of the officers’ right at the centre of the action,” he said.

Chappell added: “It’s a great addition to our portfolio of fast moving police-based factual programming.”
