Channel 5 has rolled out its catch-up TV service Demand 5 via Samsung connected TVs and DVD players.
Shows from the broadcaster such as Impossible?, Fifth Gear and The Walking Dead are available to stream for free, with further distribution deals for the TV app anticipated this year. Demand 5 is already available via Sony Bravia connected TVs.
Samsung connected TV already support the BBC iPlayer, along with VOD services from providers including Blinkbox, LoveFilm, Muzu and YouTube.
Paul Thornton-Jones, C5’s digital controller of video & technology said the aim was to make the broadcaster’s content available on a range of connected devices.
“We are building on the success of Demand 5 through a series of strategic partnerships with consumer electronics manufacturers to ensure our content is available as a given to as wide an audience as possible,” he said.
