Crime & Investigation Network (CI), which launched on 10 July, and ITV London have commissioned Flame TV to make a 6 x 30-minute series looking at the ways the public is monitored.

Surveillance Citywas greenlit by Richard Melman, channel director, programming and Koulla Anastasi, acting head of acquisitions from CI, and Emma Barker for ITV. Executive producers are Martin Morgan for CI and Barker. It will air towards the end of the year or early 2007, with ITV London taking the first window.

CI has also commissioned a 60-minute special looking at Britain's best-known chief hangman, Albert Pierrepoint. Executioner Pierrepointis being made by Dreamscope and will air later this year.
