Daniela Neumann, Viasat vice president of content and development, is to leave the pan-regional European broadcaster later this year.
Neumann, also a former head of programmes at Virgin Media Television, has been in the role at the Modern Times Group-owned broadcaster for two years.
She is currently working out her notice and is considering her next move as she eyes a move back into the UK television industry.
During her tenure, Neumann oversaw all original content and international acquisitions for the company’s 11 free-to-air channels across Scandinavia, Africa, Baltics and Eastern Europe.
Before joining Viasat, she was controller of entertainment for ITV, where she covered Layla Smith’s maternity leave, and she was also director of programmes at Virgin Media’s content arm, where she was responsible for channels including Bravo, Virgin One and Challenge. Earlier, she was controller of ITV2.
Neumann said: “I have decided to leave my post at Viasat as vice president of content and development after two great years. The breadth and depth of knowledge I have gained of the international market, and working for such a dynamic company, has been invaluable and enriching.
“I will be leaving in the near future to take a break and think carefully about what I want to do next, either in broadcasting or going back into production, as well as considering some options that I am talking to people about.”
