DGP has bought eight of Avid's latest version of Symphony, writes Farah Jifri.

The investment is a response to recent growth in the corporate side of the company's business, according to Mark Gardner, managing director at DGP. He did not reveal how much DGP has spent on the equipment.

The upgrade will enable DGP to standardise its Avid facilities on Symphony version 5, which replace the company's Media Composers and previous versions of Symphony.

Gardner said the deal 'makes sure that we had a premium offering and uniformity across the suites and are able to offer offline effects in all our suites'.

The Symphony systems were supplied by Avid reseller Root6.
