Studio Lambert format returns for second series
BBC1 is bringing back Studio Lambert’s Doctor in the House for an extended second series.
The broadcaster has ordered a 4 x 60-minute run of the health series, fronted Dr Rangan Chatterjee, after the 3 x 60-minute first series aired in November 2015.
The show averaged 2.9m (11%) in a Thursday 9pm slot, below BBC1’s 4.8m (19.9%) 2015 slot average.
Doctor In The House, which was the All3Media indie’s first BBC1 order, follows Chatterjee as he observes the daily routines of two families. The doctor is embedded with the families for 24 hours a day, paying particular attention to one individual with an underlying or chronic health complaint.
The second series was ordered by Tom McDonald, BBC’s head of commissioning, natural history and specialist factual and is exec produced by Ros Ponder and BBC’s Abigail Priddle with Tom Watt-Smith as series producer.
“We hope to continue to provide viewers with an informative and thought-provoking series that delves into people’s lifestyles and offers simple yet effective changes,” said Ponder.
