Endemol is responding to broadcaster demand by establishing a production and development base in Glasgow, to be run by Paula Campion.

The super-indie is looking to increase Scottish production across all its brands, including Tiger Aspect, Tigress and Darlow Smithson.

Campion, who has worked as a series producer on Supersize Vs Superskinny Kids, will take up the position of Endemol Scotland programme director on 3 October. She will hire locally to build the team and report to Endemol UK chief operating officer Lucas Church.

Campion will be expected to build on Initial’s Jedward’s Big Adventure and Tiger Aspect’s An Island Parish, which are already being produced in Scotland.

She said: “The increasing demand from broadcasters for programming produced in the nations and regions is providing much-needed opportunities to the TV market in Scotland. Our goal with Endemol Scotland is to attract local talent and build a strong presence here that will deliver locally produced hits.”

Separately, BBC2 has ordered a second six-part series of the Caroline Quentin-fronted Restoration Home, produced by Remarkable TV. The first series drew a consolidated audience average of 2.7 million (12% share).
