A century after the most dramatic moment in the campaign for women’s suffrage at the 1913 Derby, BBC4 launched its own comedic tribute to the movement.
And proving you can’t have too much front, one of its stars, Rebecca Front, appeared on Sky Arts 1 straight after in a less reverential comedy.
Elsewhere, Discovery took us to the last – though not the final – frontier. At 8.30pm on Thursday, BBC4 launched Jessica Hynes’ suffragette sitcom Up The Women to 340,000/1%. Half an hour later, Sky Arts 1 assembled the UK’s remaining leading comic actresses (including Front again) for new Playhouse Presents series Psychobitches and got 80,000/0.3%; nearly three times the slot average.
On Sunday at 9pm, Discovery’s Alaska: The Last Frontier achieved 99,000/0.4%; nearly twice the slot average.
ITV2’s TOWIE gang invaded the Balearics in The Only Way Is Marbs on Sunday at 10pm in front of 1.2 million/7%.
