FRIDAY: Channel 4’s charity event The Feeling Nuts Comedy Night peaked with an audience of 900,000 as Lewis continued to shed viewers for ITV.

The Jack Whitehall-fronted show, designed to raise awareness of testicular cancer, easily beat the channel’s slot average of 420,000 (5.1%) for the past 12 months.

The inaugural event, which featured a Men Behaving Badly special, a performance from Harry Enfield and music from One Direction peaked with 897,000 (7.90%) in the five minutes from 11.15pm.

Last week, charity telethon Stand Up To Cancer drew an average of 1.5m (11%) viewers from 7pm to 2am, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by Attentional.

The third episode in the eighth series of the Inspector Morse spin-off, starring Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox, lost 200,000 viewers on last week, according to overnight Barb data provided by Attentional.

It also had 1.1m fewer viewers than its series opener, which drew 5.6m (26.2%). The drama still beat ITV’s slot average of 3.7m (17.4%) for the past 12 months and was the top show at 9pm.

4.3m (19.9%)

Lewis beat BBC1’s satirical panel show, which gained 200,000 viewers from last week to hit a series high. It was followed by Not Going Out, which drew 3.4m (15.8%) up to 10pm.

Gogglebox was next in line in the 9pm slot with 3.5m (16.1%) for Channel 4. It was the Studio Lambert show’s biggest audience of the series, not counting last week’s celebrity special, which drew 4.1m (18.1%).
