E4’s comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Sky Atlantic crime thriller The Following have been recommissioned in the US as part of Fox’s forthcoming slate.
The US broadcaster has ordered both series to become part of its 2014/15 schedule, in addition to New Girl and The Mindy Project, which also air on E4.
Golden Globe winning cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which stars Andy Samberg, has performed well for E4; the first eight episodes locked up an average audience of 789,000 (3.4%), well up on the channel’s slot average of 457,000 (2.1%).
Its second series is due to start later this year.
Meanwhile, Kevin Bacon-fronted The Following, is one of Sky Atlantic’s highest rating shows and will return for a third series.
“These shows are some of the best and acclaimed series on television, with influential, culture-driving stars, and some of the best, most creative talent behind the camera,” said Kevin Reilly, chairman of entertainment at Fox.
