This Morning chef Gino D’Acampo is moving into primetime with a series that will see him travelling across Southern Italy.
ITV Studios Daytime is producing Gino’s Italian Escape, a 6 x 30-minute series, which will be a combination of lifestyle, travel and cookery.
He will travel to areas including the Amalfi coast, Rome, Puglia and Basilicata. On his travels he will meet local characters and source the best ingredients and wines.
It is the Daytime team at ITV Studio’s first factual series commission for ITV and was ordered by daytime and factual commissioner, Katy Thorogood.
ITVS executive producer Miles Jarvis said: “Gino is already a familiar face to many viewers, and Gino’s Italian Escape offers the audience the chance to join him on a trip home to experience the unique Southern Italian lifestyle that has been so key to his identity.”
Alongside the commission ITV Studios Global Entertainment, the distribution arm of the company, has brokered a deal with Hodder & Stoughton for a cookery book to accompany the series.
