Group to propose Storm station
GWR has announced plans to bid for the new analogue regional radio licence in the West Midlands, writes Colin Robertson.

The licence, which covers Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry, is due to be advertised by the Radio Authority in the spring. Under the name West Midlands Regional Radio, the group will propose a station called The Storm, which combines pop and rock music with sport, local and international news.

The board of the company comprises former Rover Group chief executive John Towers, TV presenter Charlie Neil, Warwickshire cricketer Paul Smith and GWR Group chief executive Ralph Bernard.
