Brief For the second series of the 6 x 60-minute drama, the post team was asked to fi nd beauty (where possible) to offset the darkness.

How it was done Pictures were shot on Arri Alexa and Amira, using Alexa Minis attached to drones, all captured to Log-C ProRes. The grade was completed in Baselight 2 by Jamie Parry, who used tracking windows to heighten parts of the shot, sometimes changing the time of day to fi t the narrative.

The grade also countered inconsistent lighting conditions by evening out takes, allowing the editors to choose the performance that hit the right dramatic note. For audio, mixer Mark Briscoe dispersed sound from the outside world so that he could emphasise the characters’ emotions and interpretations of their environment.

Watch it Tuesdays, 9pm, BBC1
