London's first high-definition facility, Home, opens this weekend, writes Barbara Marshall.
The latest venture from the Farm Group was due to launch earlier this month (Broadcast, 19.5.00) but although a number of audio and standard definition projects have been through the suites, work on the first HD project, a Canadian/UK film co-production, will not start until the weekend.

The delay, according to co-founder Nicky Sargent, is due to the sheer amount of work involved in getting the five-storey building habitable.

Group technical director David Klafkowski said: 'This has seemed more difficult than The Farm.'

The facility houses a HD Spirit, HD online editing and 5.1 surround audio studios, as well as HD and SD conversion and duplication facilities.
