Hireworks, the Pinewood based Film and TV editing equipment rental company, is continuing its current expansion by investing more than£300,000 in new Avid technology.

The new systems include five Avid Nitris DX Systems, two Unitys and four Media Composer Adrenalines.

The systems were all ordered direct from Avid and will be added to Hireworks' stock of equipment available for dry hire.

Chairman Lawrie Read said: “We have won a number of exciting contracts for both Film and Television productions over the last six months, with more on the way. We anticipate demand staying strong in the coming months so we felt it was a good time to invest in more equipment to enable us to continue our growth strategy.”

Hireworks recently supplied HD VTRs to the makers of the upcoming Bond movie Quantum of Solace and a complete editing set up to producers of the sixth film in the Harry Potter series, Harry potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Hireworks specialises in the dry hire of editing technology - specifically Avid, Lightworks and Final Cut Pro. In April 2008 the company purchased London Editing Machines and has now expanded into offices in Pinewood, Teddington and Soho.

Other credits include: Little Dorrit (BBC), Harley Street (ITV), Euro 2008 (BBC), Lark rise to Candleford (BBC) and Rock Rivals (ITV).
