Strictly Come Dancing, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Squid Game and Get Back all make the Broadcast Award top 10

Entertainment juggernauts Strictly Come Dancing and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here are to battle with the likes of An Audience With Adele and Good Morning Britain for the Timeline TV Moment of the Year, sponsored by Timeline Television at next month’s Broadcast Awards.

Broadcast has drawn up a shortlist of 10 moments after subscribers voted on their favourites from a longlist of 20, with the winner to be chosen by attendees at the annual event on 10 February.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice’s dance in silence on Strictly Come Dancing will vie against Ant & Dec’s mocking of Boris Johnson on I’m a Celebrity in the list of standout moments in 2021.

Other ITV shows on the shortlist include Piers Morgan’s on-set exit on Good Morning Britain and Adele’s reaction to seeing her former influential English teacher.

In drama, Colin’s tearful death on Channel 4’s It’s A Sin makes the cut, as does the shocking Red Light, Green Light challenge on Netflix’s Squid Games and the shooting of Kate Winslet’s partner on HBO/Sky Atlantic’s Mare of Easttown.

Elsewhere, Robert Moore’s dramatic report for ITN filmed inside the Capitol building in Washington as it is ransacked by President Trump supporters, footage of Paul McCartney creating the Beatles song Get Back on Disney+ and Amazon Prime / Channel 4’s Emma Raducanu’s historic win in the US Open make the shortlist.

The 2022 Broadcast Awards, take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane. All premium tables for the Broadcast Awards 2022 are now sold out. To make a booking enquiry and avoid disappointment, please contact Shane Murphy on 0208 102 0926 or shane.murphy@mb-insight.com
