Hot Shots 2022: Dorsa Nam

Dorsa Nam is “a creative powerhouse”, according to Josephine Brassey, now head of development at STV Studios, who first encountered Nam as a development trainee.

“From our first meeting, I was struck with her confidence and the breadth of her knowledge of unscripted television,” says Brassey, adding that she is “stunned by [Nam’s] creativity and ability to successfully pick out the most saleable elements of an idea to maximise its potential for sale”.

Nam worked as a development AP on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV) in 2019 and, more recently, cast Discovery+’s Written In The Stars. But her most impressive achievement to date is the role she played in the development of STV Studios’ Bridge Of Lies for BBC1, where, according to managing director David Mortimer, she was “indispensable” to the production.
