Soho film processing facility Ilab and post-production house Rocket have completed a merger that results in the birth of a new company.

Ilab-Rocket will provide a full post service from rushes to mastering via the two sites in Poland Street and Frith Street where the previous companies were based. It will work with commercials, features, shorts and broadcast clients.

Ilab's Nigel Horn and Martin McGlone become managing directors of the new company which has retained all previous staff, management and directors. No redundancies are expected.

Horn said: ”Ilab-rocket is an exciting development which allows both companies to retain their independent, boutique and personalised nature whilst offering a range of integrated services previously available only through large corporations.”

Ilab was set up by former Soho Images employees Horn and McGlone in 2006. Rocket was the facility born from the remnants of Lime.

iLab delivered a full rushes package for the Neil Jordan directed film Ondine (pictured).
