Sky 1 takes to sky for more Air Ambulance ER
Sky 1 has ordered a second series of Air Ambulance ER, the Tern TV and GroupM Entertainment series that follows the work of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services in Britain. Tern will make another 6 x 60-minute run after the first series averaged 290,500 (1%) in a 9pm slot between January and February this year. It was ordered by Sky factual commissioner James Quinn and will be executive produced by Harry Bell and Melanie Darlaston. Nicki Young is the series producer and the directors are Steve Allen and David Richardson. “Our focus is on the men and women of these remarkable small teams and the skill, conviction and passion with which they bond to deliver life-changing missions every day. It’s a great privilege to tell such intimate stories,” said Bell.

Rightster launches online arts channel
Rightster has launched a multi-channel network dedicated to the arts after receiving a £1.8m grant from Arts Council England late last year. Canvas will showcase artists and organisations’ work in a format that aims to engage younger audiences. The channel has already partnered with organisations including the Southbank Centre and Sadler’s Wells Theatre and managing director Simon Walker said: “During the next few months we hope that our pilot programme will capture the imagination of the arts world so that by the time of our full launch in October we will be the premier online destination for the arts.”
