Touchpaper TV has teamed up with actor Robson Green's indie, Coastal Productions, to make a family drama for an early evening slot on BBC1.

The 6 x 60-minute Rocket Manwas commissioned by BBC Wales head of drama Julie Gardner and stars Green as a recently widowed father living in South Wales who decides to build a rocket to send his wife's ashes into space.

Alison Hume, who wrote Coastal's one-off domestic violence drama Beatenfor BBC1, and Shaun Prendergast are writing the series. Touchpaper founder Rob Pursey will share executive producer duties with Coastal's Sandra Jobling. The series will be filmed in Wales this summer and is expected to air in a Sunday slot early next year.

Meanwhile, Touchpaper is also due to start production on a two-parter for ITV1 following a commission from the channel's drama controller, Nick Elliott.

The Best Manfeatures Couplingactor Richard Coyle, Toby Stephens and Spooksstars Keeley Hawes in a tense psychological drama about two men whose intense friendship is disrupted by the arrival of a girlfriend. The 2 x 90-minute programme, scheduled for later this year, was written by Russell Lewis and will be directed by Alex Pillai and produced by Hugh Warren.

Touchpaper is also following up its Julian Fellowes' vehicle, A Most Mysterious Murder, with After a Most Mysterious Murder. In the new BBC1 series Fellowes investigates four more unsolved cases.
