ITV has expanded its daytime commissioning team with the promotion of Priya Singh to a newly created position.
ITV1 scheduling controller Singh will become ITV daytime and factual commissioner, working across the broadcaster’s output in 2012.
She will report to director of daytime Alison Sharman, working in a beefed-up team alongside fellow commissioner Katy Thorogood, commissioner of factual Diana Howie and commissioner of popular factual Jo Clinton-Davis.
Singh joined ITV in 2006 as head of off-peak scheduling from the BBC, where she headed scheduling for CBBC and CBeebies.
The broadcaster has also poached Philip Stagg from the BBC to replace Singh.
Stagg was head of planning and scheduling for BBC4, but has also worked on BBC HD and BBC Children’s. He will report to ITV director of programme strategy David Bergg.
Bergg thanked Singh for her “strategic input and scheduling expertise over the past five years”, and welcomed Stagg to ITV, praising his “proven track-record in innovative and effective scheduling at the BBC”.
Sharman added: “Priya is already well known to key suppliers and I look forward to working with her.”
